Speak up for a world free for nuclear weapons

After some traumatic situations, negotiations were started in the 1960s to stop further spread of atomic weapons. In 1968, the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) was signed by most of the world. Today, all countries except Israel, India, Pakistan and North Korea has signed this treaty.  Still, there are 20,000 nuclear weapons in the world – capable of annihilating humans and animals – several times. These are possessed by 9 countries. Thus, it is still far to go to get free from the threat of atomic weapons.

One of the concerns is also that many have forgotten the threat and only a few are working to speed up the disarming. Among those are International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICANW). Sixtyfive years after Hiroshima was bombed with a nuclear bomb, ICANW started a campain with a plead to the leaders in the 9 countries who are possessing nuclear weapons today:

The aim is to make the world’s longest video chain with a clear message to the leaders in the 9 countries possessing nuclear weapons. Add your voice too:
